FORT CARSON, COLO. -- A total of 260 soldiers will be welcomed home early Thursday morning after being deployed to Kuwait.
This latest homecoming is part of the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat team, 4th Infantry Division.
The 2nd ABCT had deployed about 2,500 soldiers back in Sept. 2013, to Kuwait as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. According to Fort Carson officials, the soldiers conducted security cooperation, joint exercises and training while being deployed.
“The brigade partnered with members of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces to strengthen ties between the two nations and enhance security in the region,” a statement read. “The United States has had a longstanding bilateral defense relationship with Kuwait, promoting security and stability in the region.”
