Ask not what the comedy duo of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele can do for their country.
No, seriously. Don’t ask. They’re too busy.
How busy? Seems they had so much on their plate earlier this year, they had to turn down a job offer from President Obama.
It’s all revealed in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, which the funny guys are guest-editing this week. It goes on sale on Friday.
Earlier this year, Obama wanted to make a comedy short to promote the Affordable Care Act. He thought Key and Peele, who’ve earned fame and critical acclaim for their Comedy Central sketch-comedy series, would be perfect for the job.
Think again, POTUS.
“We had to turn him down. We were making the season,” Peele tells EW. “We literally couldn’t fit it in to our schedules,” Key adds.
